Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The entity responsible for handling personal information on this website is:
ConsumerPointer.com UAB
Katedros a. 1
01143 Vilnius
Lithuania
Email: info@consumerpointer.com
Referred to below as "we" or "the operator".
2. Our approach to your data
Protecting your personal information matters to us. We handle your data in line with applicable data-protection law, including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) for our Australian visitors, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
This website uses no tracking tools, analytics software or marketing cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, the Facebook Pixel or comparable services.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. When you access our pages, the hosting provider automatically collects information in what are known as server log files, which your browser transmits. These include:
The IP address of the requesting device, the date and time of access, the name and URL of the page accessed, the volume of data transferred, a message confirming successful retrieval, the browser type and version, the operating system, and the referrer URL (the previously visited page).
This data is needed for technical reasons – to deliver the website correctly and to ensure the security and stability of the server. It is not combined with any other data sources. Log files are usually deleted automatically after 30 days.
Hosting provider: Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. A data processing agreement is in place with Hostinger.
4. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol. This means the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
5. Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies for analytics or advertising purposes. No tracking tools, remarketing pixels or comparable technologies are used.
If the hosting provider sets technically necessary cookies – for example for session management or security functions – this is done to support the proper operation of the website. These cookies contain no personal information.
6. Affiliate links and external services
Our website contains what are known as affiliate links, which lead to the offers of external suppliers. If you click such a link and then purchase a product, we may receive a commission from the relevant supplier.
When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to the relevant supplier's website. From that point on, that supplier's privacy policy applies. We have no influence over the nature or extent of the data the external supplier collects.
Affiliate networks usually set a cookie on your device when you click, in order to attribute the purchase. This takes place on the third-party supplier's website – not on ours.
7. Embedding of external resources
The fonts used on this website (DM Serif Display, Source Sans 3, JetBrains Mono) are hosted locally on our server. No data is transferred to third parties – in particular not to Google or other external providers.
8. Contacting us by email
If you contact us by email, we store the data you provide (at least your email address and the content of your message) in order to process your enquiry and answer any follow-up questions.
Your data is deleted once the purpose of storage no longer applies – usually when the correspondence is concluded, unless statutory retention requirements prevent this.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information, including:
Access
You can request information at any time about whether, and which, personal data we hold about you.
Correction
If the data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to have it corrected.
Deletion
You can request the deletion of your personal data, provided no statutory retention requirements apply.
Restriction and objection
Under certain conditions you can request that the processing of your data be restricted, or object to processing.
Complaints
If you believe your personal information has been handled improperly, you can lodge a complaint. Visitors in Australia may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. As our company is based in Lithuania, the relevant EU supervisory authority is the Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija (VDAI), L. Sapiegos g. 17, 10312 Vilnius, Lithuania.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time so that it always meets current legal requirements. The version in force at the time of your visit applies.
